Randy waited in the brush just off the road across from an old work shed. Two shotgun toting men guarded the SUV. The building was clearly not abandoned, as he had thought at first glance, and also not just a work shed. He still didn’t trust his eyes though. If he was right Miguel Garcia from third squad was Peters’ captor. He had gotten out of the vehicle and gone inside the building. He and Terry were just discussing the idea of where he might be so that they could try to enlist his help. He couldn’t be a bad guy in this, he was one of them at one point in time. What the hell was going on? It seemed like they were slowly unfolding one of those movie conspiracies. This felt wrong, he felt vulnerable. Finally, the driver came back out of the building. It actually was Garcia. He couldn’t believe it. Garcia dismissed the two gunmen and climbed into the car. For a moment Randy considered attacking the truck right now. He dismissed this idea almost right away, Garcia was a wolf, Terry had said. Add in two men with guns and Randy would be overwhelmed. He waited for Garcia to pull away from the building so he could see what direction he was going. Once he knew he ran as hard and as fast as he could out in front of the vehicles path, staying hidden in the wood line as he did. Garcia was driving slowly at the moment, which afforded Randy time to put some distance between himself and the SUV. He ran until he came up to where the road ended in a turn only intersection. The SUV would have to stop at the stop sign temporarily in order to turn. He crouched down on the side of the road that would line him up with the driver’s side of the vehicle. When they stopped he would make his move. He just hoped that he could pull it off.
